Inaugural Event, Chairman's Holiday Ball plans set

Special Partnership brings community a holiday event extraordinaire!

Partnering together to create a special community holiday event at The Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences, The Tar River Orchestra and Chorus League and The Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce will bring the community a wonderful holiday ball and showcase of festive holiday trees in what is expected to be an annual holiday event extraordinaire!

The inaugural event, The Chairman's Holiday Ball, will be held on Saturday evening, December 9, 2006 from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. The evening will feature a holiday reception and special entertainment by the Tar River Swing Band with guest artist Lynn Roberts. Guests will enjoy a night of dancing in the beautiful lobby of the renovated historic facility - now a cultural icon in our community. A special feature of the event for guests will be a reverse raffle in which a $7,500 cash prize, and other cash prizes and items totaling over $10,000 will be given away to numerous lucky ticket holders.

The Arts Center and Children's Museum will also be open to guests throughout the evening.

The Chairman's Holiday Ball will also incorporate a very special display of beautifully decorated Christmas trees in the lobby of the Imperial Centre, sponsored by area businesses. The Christmas trees will also serve as a holiday showcase for the community to enjoy from just after the Thanksgiving holiday to the New Year. The event is a Signature Series event of The Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce and as with other Signature events, promises to be an exclusive, one-of-a-kind event that the community will enjoy for many years.

2006 Chamber Chairman David Farris and Tar River Orchestra and Chorus Chairman Dr. Dan Crocker are thrilled with this special partnership opportunity to host an event that combines the holiday, the city's wonderful new cultural arts facility and the tradition of the Tar River Orchestra and Chorus League for a wonderful December night in the community.

Sharing their excitement, "This special holiday event has been long in the planning, and I'd like to offer special thanks to the wonderful steering committee members from both partners and the community that have organized the event of the year!" stated David Farris. "This will be one great evening. Partnering with the Tar River Orchestra and Chorus League will create an evening guests will not forget".

Dr. Dan Crocker also shared his excitement noting, "We couldn't be more pleased with the creation of this partnership with The Rocky Mount Area Chamber and are proud to bring the Chairman's Holiday Ball to our respective members and to the community. We believe our guests will experience a great night of culture and fun; and what better place to hold our inaugural event than at one of the finest cultural venues our city has known."
