Chamber Business Expo Set for October 11

Nash Community College Will Host Event

Business Expo 2005 Premier Sponsor RBC Centura joins with the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce in announcing plans for the 17th Annual Business Expo to be held, for the second year, on the campus of Nash Community College. The Business and Industry Center, Brown Auditorium, and surrounding outside areas of the campus complex will be utilized for the one-day show. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, 2005 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

According to Chamber Past Chairman and 2005 Expo Chairman Keith Ballentine, "What better place for companies to exhibit their products and services to fellow businesses and to the general public. This is an opportune time to network with suppliers and customers, to enhance the organization's visibility in a multi-county marketplace, and to renew and expand business relationships. The show will return to Nash Community College where their facilities proved to be a real plus for what has become The Chamber's signature event."

Expo exhibitor and Chamber Chairman Mike Bryant concurs with Ballentine's remarks and adds, "It's more than just a Business Expo - it's the business signature event of the year! Whether it's financial services or business services, soft drinks or software, computers or cars, there seems to be something for everybody. Exhibitors at the Expo represent a cross section of the area's business community. We'll be there."

Business Expo Sales Manager William Bobbitt registers Ralph Webb (center) of Daughtridge Gas & Oil for "eastern North Carolina's most exclusive trade show." Past Chamber Chairman Keith Ballentine (right) will serve as Business Expo Chairman.

William Bobbitt, Expo Sales Manager, is pleased to have over twenty exhibitors showing their automobiles, boats, golf carts, recreational vehicles, ATVs, food vendors, and many other products and services at the outside entrance to the building. According to Bobbitt, "Ninety percent of these vendors are returning from past years and are excited to once again be a part of such an exclusive event. We have already had great success selling exhibit space on the outside, adjacent to the auditorium. Since college students will be on fall break, plenty of parking will be available on site."

In addition to the daylong show, two other special events will take place as part of the program. The popular Expo Luncheon and Symposium will be held at 12:00 Noon adjacent to the Brown Auditorium and will feature native son Roy Cooper, Attorney General for the State of North Carolina. The luncheon is sponsored by ElectriCities of NC, Inc. and Bill Ellis Barbecue. Seating is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

The traditional Expo Business After Hours, to be held in the same location from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., is sponsored by RBC Centura, Confidential Records Management, Inc., and Chick-fil-A of Cobbs Corner.

Mark your calendars now - Tuesday, October 11, from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Presenting Sponsors include Braswell Foods and Alltel; Gold Sponsor, Sprint Yellow Pages; and Host Sponsor, Nash Community College. Both Nash Community College Small Business Center and Edgecombe Community College Small Business Center serve as Annual Sustaining Sponsors.
