YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NETWORK OFFERS NEW OPPORTUNITIES

RBC Centura and The Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce officially kicked-off the newest group in Rocky Mount - The Young Professionals Network on Thursday, Oct. 11. The 150 attendants all left with great excitement and anticipation of the activities to come. "We have needed a group like this for some time now," stated Bradley McAdams with Corporate Imaging Systems and the group's Chairman. "This will be a great tool to get the younger crowd out and involved with each other not only socially, but give them opportunities to become more active in and aware of what is going on in their community."

The Young Professionals Network has three main goals: business development, community involvement, and social activities. "One goal is to get rid of the misconception that there is nothing to do for young business professionals in the Rocky Mount area," stated Kim Huddleston, VP Membership Development for the Chamber and the group's coordinator. " We want to showcase the advantages of living and working in the Twin Counties to make the area appealing to prospective residents and companies recruiting new employees, attractive to new arrivals, and revitalizing for our long-term residents."

RBC Centura is the proud sponsor of the program this year. "RBC Centura strongly supports the Young Professionals Network and recognizes its value in recruiting and retaining some of this area's brightest and talented young people," said Kel Landis, chief executive officer of RBC Centura. "We believe that the professional development, social interaction, and the sense of community spirit developed through volunteerism that this organization fosters is invaluable not only to our community and to the bank, but to our young professionals on a personal level as well."

The Young Professionals Network is open for membership to anyone that is "young at heart." Annual dues for the group are $75.00 for Chamber Members and $150.00 for non-members.
